DATE: 23/10/2023

Welcome to Kia Music Academy. By using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read these terms carefully.

Acceptance of Terms:

By enrolling in courses or lessons at the Academy, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.

Registration and Enrolment:

To enrol in courses or lessons at the Academy, you must follow our registration procedures. There are no registration fees. You can book your online lesson through our website or contact us directly to arrange a trial lesson.

Cancellation and withdrawal policies are in place and should be reviewed prior to enrolment. (further below)

Fees and Payment:

Tuition fees vary depending on length of lesson and instrument chosen. The fees will be communicated to the student prior to the introductory lesson.  Extra fees are charged for in-home lessons, depending on location of student.

Note: trial introductory lesson is 100% free of charge.

Payment times must be arranged prior to beginning lessons. Payment type must also be clarified (cash and card acceptable). You can choose how you prefer to make payments from the below options:

·       Lesson by lesson basis

·       Monthly basis

·       Anything in between (e.g. every 2 lessons)

·       Semesterly basis (must be prepaid)

Any additional costs, such as materials, books, or recital fees, will be specified at the time of enrolment, and will be the responsibility of the student to pay.

Late payment fees at 5% extra cost in addition to lesson fees apply.

Lesson Scheduling:

Lesson schedules are determined based on a negotiation between instructor and student availability. Make-up lessons may be provided for missed lessons under certain conditions. Instructor assignments are made by the Academy and are subject to change.

Expectations From Students:

Regular attendance is expected, and absences should be reported promptly – AT LEAST 24 hours prior to lesson. Students are subject to a total of 6 lesson cancellations per year. Note that all rescheduling requests or cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to lesson. Failure to notify within this time frame will result in the full fee of the lesson being charged.

Disruptive behaviour may result in disciplinary action. Commitment to practicing and participating in Academy events is encouraged.

Academic Progress and Assessments:

Criteria for student progress evaluations are specified in trial lesson. Students are welcome to addressing issues related to progress or performance.

Instructors will raise awareness about available exams for certification and qualification, however the final decision is up to the student.

Communication and Notifications:

Communication methods between the Academy, students, and parents/guardians are very important, and timely responses to communications are expected. Failure to communicate may result in respective fees. The method of communication must be specified in the registration form. Communication can be done through SMS texts, WhatsApp, or Emails.

Intellectual Property:

All course materials, music, and performance content are subject to copyright and intellectual property rights.

Facility Use and Equipment:

Students are expected to follow rules for using Academy facilities. Guidelines for the care and use of Academy equipment and instruments must be observed.

Safety and Liability:

Measures are taken to ensure students have a safe environment for learning. Students are liable for their own safety, and accidents will not be the academy’s liability.

Force Majeure:

The Academy may be affected by unforeseeable events (e.g., natural disasters, pandemic) that may impact lessons. Our academy will notify you as soon as this happens. We ask that you be considerate and understanding at times of difficulty.

Parental or Guardian Responsibilities:

Parents/guardians are responsible for supporting the student’s education and practice. If a student is being accompanied by a parent or guardian, it is their responsibility to take care in order to prevent accidents and damage to both the student and the academy’s property.

Amendment and Termination:

The Academy reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions.

Under circumstances which do not match our policies, the academy has the right to termination.

Please contact us at info@kiamusicacademy.com.au with any questions or concerns about these terms and conditions.
